The History of Twelve Point Transportation

 Twelve Point Transportation was founded in 2018 by a group of members from a local chemical company in the Greater Chattanooga, Tennessee area. The initial vision for the company was centered around reducing transportation costs by utilizing bulk liquid tankers, supported by the company’s hazmat certifications. The business grew steadily, and by 2022, one of the founding members had developed a strong owner-operator fleet, hauling liquid bulk loads nationwide.

In August 2023, the managing partners, identified a significant growth opportunity outside of the liquid tanker market. Seeing the rising demand for white-glove final mile delivery solutions, they spearheaded a shift in the company's strategy. By November 2023, the business acquired its first 26ft box truck, staffed with two full-time drivers to begin focusing on the final mile delivery of big and bulky goods.

The momentum continued, and by January 2024, Twelve Point Transportation had expanded its fleet to two 26ft box trucks and employed five full-time drivers. The company's reputation for delivering high-quality, white-glove service fueled further growth. By March 2024, the fleet had grown to three 26ft box trucks and seven full-time drivers, establishing Twelve Point as a key player in the local delivery market.

Since April 2024, the company has averaged more than 30 big and bulky vending machine deliveries per week, each weighing over 750 lbs. The team has successfully delivered over 1,200 machines, further solidifying its reputation for providing premium service in challenging final-mile logistics.

In December 2023, the decision was made to shut down the liquid bulk tanker and hazmat operations to fully commit to white-glove final mile delivery solutions. The company now specializes in big and bulky deliveries, expedited services, and tailored logistics solutions that meet the needs of both local and regional clients.
